According to rmsznet.com TMT, ZIBS will, in partnership with Chinese and foreign governments, industries, universities, and research institutions, officially establish the Metaverse Campus on April 27. The campus will have the world's first top Metaverse business school, which will promote diverse learning among students through virtual reality (VR) and put into practice the idea of education for all.

The Metaverse industry has flourished in recent years. Related technology and equipment are maturing and spreading far and wide, and all sorts of application scenarios are in waiting for construction. Tech giants Facebook and Microsoft are competing to develop Metaverse products. JP Morgan and HSBC announced this year they would establish Metaverse bases. According to Bloomberg Industry Research, the size of the Metaverse market will increase to 800 billion U.S. dollars by 2024.

From April 27 to May 10, Professor HE Lianzhen, Vice President of Zhejiang University, Professor BEN Shenglin, Dean of ZIBS, Professor Hung-Yi Chen, Director of ZIBS Metaverse Campus, Professor Han Seung-soo, President of the 56th Session of the UN General Assembly, Cai Jin, Executive Director and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Sing Tao News Corporation Limited, Alvin Graylin, President of HTC China, Michael Abbott, Global Banking Lead at Accenture, Manish Nigam, Managing Director of Credit Suisse, Giuliano Noci, Vice Chancellor of the Chinese Territorial Pole at the Polytechnic University of Milan in Italy, Fiona Devine, Head of the Alliance Manchester Business School at The University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, John Finch, Dean of Adam Smith Business School of University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom, José M. Martínez-Sierra, General Director of the Barcelona School of Management at Pompeu Fabra University in Spain, and Martin Ding Fat Wong, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, will cut the ribbon and deliver opening speeches at the opening ceremony—one of the events to mark the 125th anniversary of Zhejiang University, and address frontier issues relating to higher education, the economy, and society in the era of the Metaverse. On May 6, Professor Mauro Guillen, Dean of Cambridge Judge Business School in the United Kingdom, will visit ZIBS Metaverse Campus and share his thoughts on future trends.

During the event, ZIBS joined top global enterprises in building the Metaverse exhibition hall where distinguished guests, teachers and students can stay updated on the latest developments in the industry. Famous Lingnan painter LIN Bochi, who was awarded an Australian Centenary Medal, and DAI Guangying of the China Academy of Art, will exhibit their paintings online at the Metaverse Campus to give distinguished guests from all over the world a chance to enjoy the beauty of Chinese art.

ZIBS Metaverse Campus will deliver (1) Immersive Class: a class built in virtual reality for teachers and students from around the world that may redefine online learning and international academic exchanges, (2)Metaverse Exhibition Hall: a VR exhibition hall combining with classroom learning, built in cooperation with enterprises for students to understand the actual industry environment, and (3) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Road Show: a Metaverse tutoring platform built through industry-university cooperation for ensuring success for start-ups. ZIBS is also preparing the Metanomics Research Center, which is expected to open up a new chapter in higher business education based on the theory and practice of the Metaverse Campus.
